Sophia Lee Qualifies for U.S. Women’s Open

Fairfield’s own Sophia Lee continues to turn heads in the world of junior golf. The 17-year-old standout has officially qualified for the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open, set to be held May 28–June 1 at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

Lee punched her ticket to the prestigious championship with a stellar performance at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, emerging as one of only three qualifiers out of a competitive field of 84 players by shooting 67-70-137 (5 under). Her accomplishment is the latest milestone in what has already been an impressive junior golf career.

Sacramento area fans will remember Lee as the 2024 State Fair Junior Tournament champion and regular on the Sacramento Golf Council’s junior circuit for the past six years and will be attending Sacramento State University in the Fall on a golf scholarship.
