Mick Soli and Herb Jensen Win Northern California PGA Legends Championship

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Northern California PGA Legends Championship, held April 29–30 at the Alister MacKenzie Golf Course at Haggin Oaks, crowned its 2025 champions in an impressive display of skill and sportsmanship among golfers aged 70 and over.
Professional Mick Soli claimed the top spot with a 36-hole score of 138, finishing six under par. In the amateur division, Herb Jensen took top honors with a one-under-par score of 143.
Professional Mick Soli turned pro in 1976, and played on the PGA tour from 1979 to 1985. He taught in the Bay Area for 35 years before retiring in 2020.
The tournament was co-hosted by the Northern California PGA, the Sacramento Golf Council, and the Haggin Oaks team, bringing together some of the region’s most seasoned and respected senior golfers.
A special highlight of the event was the reunion luncheon on Tuesday, April 29, during which amateur Bob Olds received the NCPGA Legends Trophy. The award recognized his outstanding sportsmanship, as noted by fellow competitors. Olds has played in the prestigious California State Fair Championship for an incredible 34 consecutive years.
The State Fair Championship is among 24 city and county tournaments sponsored annually by the Sacramento Golf Council, helping keep competitive amateur golf thriving in Northern California.
