2020 State Fair Junior

The 2020 State Fair Junior Championship was held at Mather Golf Course on Saturday, August
29, 2020 with 180 golfers – 148 in the 12-18 age group divisions and 32 in the 7-11 age group
divisions.

The weather was very nice with temperatures starting in the mid 60s and climbing to the low
90s at the conclusion of the event. There was a slight breeze from the southwest that helped
to dissipate some of the smoke from the wildfires. Pace of play was very good with the last
group finishing in just over four hours.

The 7-11 age groups played the back nine, teeing off at 7:30AM. Results are as follows:

Girls Age 7-9
• First Place – Hazel Hooper, Pacifica, CA – 38
• Second Place – Stella Yoon, Reno, NC – 43
• Third Place – Peyton Chan, Rocklin, CA – 45

Boys Age 7-9
• First Place – Dev Malik, San Jose, CA – 32
• Second Place – Inho Park , San Jose, CA – 37
• Third Place – Will Houssels, Danville, CA – 40

Girls Age 10-11
• First Place – Bella Ransi, El Dorado Hills, CA – 37

The 12-18 age groups played the full 18 holes with tee times from 7:30AM to 2:30PM. Results
