Barragan Reidt and Nguyen Win in Playoffs at 57th Sacramento County Junior Championship

Zac Barragan Reidt and Allie Nguyen captured overall titles in dramatic fashion at the 57th Sacramento County Junior Championship, held June 16–17 at Mather Golf Course.

Barragan Reidt claimed the Boys Overall Championship in a thrilling four-way playoff, edging out Kees Hoogendyk – last year’s champion – Everest Williams, and Cooper Westphal. Hoogendyk, Williams and Tré Garza captured first, second and third respectively in the boys 16-18 division.

On the girls side, Nguyen also secured her Overall Girls title in a tightly contested three-way playoff, finishing ahead of Lillian McGowan and Mia Cho. McGowan, Cho and Rayne Ripperger captured first, second and third respectively in the girls 16-18 division.
The overall champion comes from the 16-18 and 14-15 age groups.

• Harrison Beinke, Boys 12–13 Champion
• Medha Kotti, Girls 14–15 Champion
• Christina Choe, Girls 12–13 Champion

The Sacramento County Junior Championship, now in its 57th year, is a premier event hosted by the Sacramento Golf Council, drawing top junior talent from across the region. The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 12-18 and is contested in age-based divisions over 36 holes.

The 2025 event was directed by Nanci Smith of the Sacramento Golf Council.
