58th City Putting Championship

58th City Putting Championship

The 58th annual City Putting Championship was once again filled with excitement. In the Junior division defending champ Griffin long made an ace on the 18th hole to send the match to sudden death. Isamu Kawaguchi took Griffin to the 25th hole before losing to an ace by Griffin to defend his title.

In the Women’s match play 3 time defending Champ Angie Dixon lost in the semi’s in sudden death to April Chang. It then took 24 holes for Suzanne Fletcher to defeat April Chang for the crown, a great match.

In the Men’s event Mike Harrop defeated last years winner Curtis Cameron and faced Michael Angel the 2014 champ and defeated him with an ace on 17 to go 2 up.

A special thanks goes out to Morton Golf and the Haggin Oaks staff for creating a championship venue that all participants raved about. The putting green has never been better.

Most importantly I would like to thank my fellow Golf Council Members for all your help and support for helping make this a wonderful, fun, and a very competitive event.
