The 3rd Annual Sacramento Valley Senior Amateur (SVSA) at the classic Alister MacKenzie Golf Course at Haggin Oaks hosted by the Sacramento Golf Council and the Haggin Oaks Team was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23rd and 24th, 2023.

Corey West (Burlingame) won the Senior Championship. Corey held on to his first-day lead and won by 2 strokes, scoring 69 – 71 (140). Second place went to Mike Moreland (Galt) who put on a great back nine charge, scoring 33 with 3 birdies; 73 – 69 (142). In solo third was Bob LeDoux (Anderson) who was the 2021 Senior Champion. Bob scored 73 – 70 (143).

Casey Boyns (Monterey) won the Super Senior Championship. Casey held on to his first-day lead to take the Super Senior Championship by 4 strokes, scoring 70 – 71 (141). Joey Ferrari (Stockton), the 2022 Super Senior Champion, and Herb Jensen (Carmichael) tied for second shooting 145.

Joe Angel (El Dorado Hills) won the Legends Flight. Joe birdied his final hole to win the Legends Championship by one stroke 74 – 70 (144). Dennis Younglove (Davis) took second place 72 – 73 (145) and Ken Cess (Vacaville) took third place 74 – 73 (147).
