2023 Valley Women’s

The 3rd annual Sacramento Valley Women’s Amateur (SVWA) was played at the classic Alister Mackenzie GC @ Haggin Oaks on Saturday & Sunday, June 3-4, 2023.

The WINNER in the regular division was Sienna Lyford (Roseville, CA) shooting 2 under with a score of 142. Sienna started round two, 3 strokes behind the first-round leader, Nikki Chindavong (Fairfield, CA) who fired a 3 under, 69 in round #1. Sienna played amazingly steady golf in round 2, shooting a bogey-free 70. Finishing 2nd was Taylor Baker (Sacramento, CA) at even par (144), with Chindavong in 3rd at one over (145). Sienna finished her round surrounded by her family, Caddie/Boyfriend & Coach David Sutherland.

The Senior champion was Lynne Cowan (Rocklin, CA), who was tied for the lead after day one with Melissa Spencer, both shooting 75. On day two, Lynne ran away from the field. At one point, Lynne was 2 under for round two and held an 8-shot lead. In the end, Lynne fired a 1 under, 71 to win by 6 strokes over the 2022 Champion, Karen Garcia (Cool, CA) at 152. Tina Barker (Fairfield, CA) finished in 3rd at 153.
