County Women’s Championship

Ancil Hoffman Golf Course July 18,19

Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year by hosting The 47th Annual Sacramento Women’s County Championship. This year’s event was played in conjunction with the 51st Annual Sacramento County Men’s Championship.

Considering the recent drought conditions, Ancil Hoffman was is great condition. Pin placements were tough, but players in both events were equally complimentary of the conditions of the greens, as they were rolling fast and true.

Thirty three women competed in this years event, with Arielle Swan-Smith from Sunnyvale posting a very solid 2-under par score of 72-72-144. Virgie Velaquez was a close 2nd with a 1-under 73-72-145. Kelsey Ulep and last year’s runner-up, Mabel Wong, finished tied for 3rd at 148. Many thanks to all the players, Ancil Hoffman Staff and volunteers, for making this a very enjoyable and competitive event.
