2014 City Women’s Championship

Kelsey Ulep from Rocklin, California won the tournament. She is a Sacramento Bee all-city golfer from Whitney High School this past year, who is going to the University of Oregon this Fall on a golf scholarship.

Kelsey shot a new tournament record score of 67-65-132, 14 under par, in very hot weather today. Kelsey bogeyed her first hole of the tournament, but she did not have another blemish the rest of the weekend. Her 8 under par round Sunday included 6 birdies, one eagle and no bogeys. She beat an impressive field that included college players from UC Berkeley, University of Nebraska, Fresno State, USF, Sonoma State, Santa Clara, University of Hawaii, Cal Poly, UC Irvine, Sac State and UC Davis as well as top high school and junior players from Northern California and international players from The Philippines.

From our handicap players, Hong Lee won the Director’s Flight by just one stroke at 132 ov Cindy Merrall.

Local Agnes Kennedy won the President’s Flight at 133, again, by just one stroke over Carolyn Turner.
