Strong Scores and Teamwork Shine at 84th Sacramento City Mixed Team Championship

Sacramento—The 84th Sacramento City Mixed Team Championship was contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on Sunday, August 3.

Winners of the Mixed Team Championship are Phet Holvick, Folsom, and John Jamarillo, Fair Oaks, with a 67 gross, playing with a 9 handicap for a net 58.

Overall low gross winners were Audrey Cheng, Walnut Creek, and Cristian Sander, San Ramon, with a 63 total.

Twenty-six teams competed in the Mixed Team tournament that was open to all amateur golfers with an established GHIN (Golf Handicap Index). Teams played 18 holes using the Chapman format. Both partners hit from their own tee. Each plays a second shot with the other’s ball. After the second shots, a choice is made regarding the ball to be used to continue, and the hole is completed by using alternating shots until holed out.
