Tony Paulson Bio
Tony has been playing golf for over 50 years. It started when his father cut down some clubs for him so he could join his father on his early morning weekend rounds. At first, Tony would just hit a couple of shots each hole but as he got better, he started to play more and eventually finished a hole and then finished a round. In high school and early college, Tony worked at a golf course initially picking up range balls but eventually working in the pro shop. He had the opportunity to run many tournaments, mostly junior tournaments. Early on he played competitive golf as a junior but now just enjoys getting outside and playing as much as he can.
Tony is a clinical psychologist and treats mostly teenagers and young adults with eating disorders. He also retired from Sacramento State where he taught for 18 years. Tony hopes to be retired in three or four years where his wife and he will spend some time traveling and hopefully playing golf throughout the country and world.
Tony is excited to be part of the Sacramento Golf Council to help run tournaments and inspire people to take up golf or pursue whatever path fits for them in the game. He is also eager to meet others who have a love and passion for the game.
