Council Bio – Jim Shields

Jim Shields Bio

Jim grew up playing football and running track and continued those in college. He didn’t take up golf until he was 30 at the urge of friends. Once he was on the course, the golf bug bit and he has been playing ever since. One of Jim’s passions has been coaching and he has transferred that to golf by volunteering with the First Tee of Greater Sacramento since 2018. His golf experiences also consist of volunteering as a walking scorer on the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Korn Ferry tours.

Looking forward to working with all age groups with the Sacramento Golf Council, Jim is bringing a passion for excellence and fun to the Council.
