Council Bio – Greg Bisi

Greg Bisi Bio

Originally from the Bay Area, Greg attended UC Berkeley, where he met his wife, Laurie, with whom he has shared 41 wonderful years. In 1989, Laurie and Greg moved to Sacramento, where they raised four children.

Golf has been a passion of Greg’s for most of his life, and he introduced his son to the game, who has since gone on to become a PGA Professional. Through Greg’s involvement in Junior Golf, he was invited to apply for a position with the Sacramento Golf Council by then-Sacramento City Golf Manager, Ann Weaver. He applied and was honored to join the Council in 2010.

Since becoming a member of the Council, Greg had the privilege of directing several tournaments. Most notably, he has served as the Tournament Director for the Walter and Olga Strand Junior-Senior City Championship for the past 14 years. He says “it’s been incredibly rewarding to run this event year after year.”

Greg especially enjoys the Junior-Senior tournament, where he often sees multiple generations from the same family competing. It’s a unique experience to watch juniors grow into adult golfers and to see familiar faces return each year. It’s one of the most gratifying aspects of Greg’s involvement in the game.
