Deborah Kanner Bio
Deborah has enjoyed golfing for many years and since retiring has been working to improve her game. She retired in 2018 from California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) Investment Office, serving in the government financial services sector for nearly 35 years.
In 2022, Deborah rejoined the Sacramento Golf Council, having served a term as Treasurer early in her career. She has been the Tournament Director for the Sacramento County Women’s Championship for a couple of years and is serving as Assistant Treasurer. She is a member of the South Sacramento Women’s Golf Club (SSWGC) where she has also run club tournaments and served as President.
Outside of golf, she travels with her husband in their 5th wheel. In addition, she serves on the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet (SSIP) Board, serving the food insecure in Sacramento.
