Baucom Captures California State Fair Mid-Amateur Golf Championship

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Donnie Baucom of Fair Oaks claimed the 2025 California State Fair Mid-Amateur Golf Championship, played August 16–17 at Bing Maloney Golf Course.

Baucom posted back-to-back rounds of 68 for a 136 total, finishing two strokes ahead of runner-up Scott Stevens of Garden Valley. Stevens highlighted the championship with a hole-in-one on the 13th hole during the first round.

The championship was open to male amateur golfers age 30 and older with a World Handicap System Index of 6.8 or lower.

The event was conducted by the Sacramento Golf Council, with Sean Wong serving as tournament chairman.
