Marshall and Menard Win City Mixed Team Championship

Sacramento—The 85th Sacramento City Mixed Team Championship was contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on Sunday, August 2.
Winners of the Mixed Team Championship are Ramona Marshall and Lawrence Menard with a gross of 91, playing with a handicap of 27.5 for a net 63.5. Marshall won the CityAmateur Handicap division in June.
Thirty-four teams competed in the Mixed Team tournament that was open to all amateur golfers with an established GHIN (Golf Handicap Index).
Teams played 18 holes using the Chapman format. Both partners hit from their own tee. Each plays a second shot with the other’s ball. After the second shots, a choice is made regarding the ball to be used to continue, and the hole is completed by using alternating shots until holed out.
Peggy Chan directed the tournament as a volunteer member of the Sacramento Golf Council.
