STATE FAIR SENIOR/SUPER SENIOR/LEGENDS CROWN 2025 CHAMPIONS

The 29th annual State Fair Senior, the 16 th annual State Fair Super Senior, and the 3rd annual State Fair Legends Championships were held at Mather Golf Course on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31. As always, the field was strong with many past winners of these events as well as past winners of the State Fair Amateur, and top players from all over California.

SENIOR DIVISION
Randy Haag won his 2nd State Fair Senior Championship. Randy, 2023 Senior Champion, shot 70 – 64 (134) and won by two strokes. Stephen Sear was 2nd with 69 –67 (136). There was a 5-way tie for 3rd with Mark Morgan (3-time past champion), Tony Ralph (last years’ champion), Tom Clark, Robert Funk, and Craig Miyamoto all at 141.

SUPER SENIOR DIVISION
Dean Prince won his first Super Senior State Fair Championship with rounds of 68 – 66 (134). Bob Niger, winner of this years’ County, Sac Valley and City Super Seniors came in 2nd with 66 – 70 (136); Chris Miller, 2020 Senior Champion, was 3rd with 68 – 70 (138); and Brady Donoghue was 4th with 71 – 68 (139). It was great to welcome Bob Niger back to our amateur events this year.

LEGENDS DIVISION
Bob Fleming won the Legends Championship. Bob, winner of the 2004 Senior State Fair, shot 73 – 69 (142) and pulled ahead for the win on the second to last hole. Bob Cook, last years’ champion, came in 2nd with 70 – 73 (143); Herb Jensen, 2010 Senior and 2017 Super Senior Champion, came in 3rd with 73 – 72 (145); and Allen White came in 4th with 73 – 73 (146).

HOLE-IN-ONE
Tony Ralph, last year’s Senior Champion, had a hole-in-one on #3.
