2024 City Senior Four-Ball

The second annual Sacramento City Senior 4-Ball Championship was contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on March 29 thru March 31, 2024. Play began on Friday, March 29th with 17 teams playing a qualifying round to determine the 8 teams to advance to match play.

The teams of Doug Williams and Jim Williams and Dave Bates and Mike Stieler were medalists in the qualifying round
shooting 4-under 68. Match play began on Saturday morning March 30, followed by semifinal matches on Saturday afternoon and the Final Match on Sunday morning March 31.

The course was in excellent condition however, with the recent rains and threatening more along with blustery winds it was decided to employ preferred lies throughout the weekend with “lift, clean and place” through the green.

The final match took place between Dave Bates (Tracy, CA) and Mike Stieler (Manteca, CA) and the team of John Jaramillo (Fair Oaks, CA) and Mike Lowe (Roseville, Ca). Bates/Stieler took an early lead and while Jaramillo and Lowe were game, Bates and Stieler were not to be denied closing out the match 4&3.
