2023 County Women’s

On July 29 and 30, 2023 the Sacramento County Women’s Championship and 2023 Handicap Championship were held at Mather GC, where 37 women competed. The weather was warm, and we even had a nice breeze for a while.

The 2023 Sacramento Women’s Championship changed hands this year. Lexi Booras played well both days shooting 68 both days for 136. Lexi’s support crew was there cheering her on. Sienna Lyford (last year’s Champ), Harmonie Yin and Taylor Baker tied for second place at even with gross scores of 144. Using the USGA tiebreaker resulted in Sienna, Harmonie and Taylor placing at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

The Handicap Division had a very surprising winner, Esther Garcia played very, very well both days with a net 63 and 65, for -16 under or 128 Net. Prior champion, Vicki Philpott shot -10 for a 134 Net. Nancy Smith was tied for third with Karen Biscaha at -6 for 138 Net. Charlotte Wells was also in the hunt.
