2022 State Fair Senior

The 26th annual State Fair Senior and the 13th annual State Fair Super Senior were held at Mather Golf Course Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd and 4th. The field was strong with many prior winners as well as top senior and super senior players from all over Northern California.

SENIOR DIVISION

John Jaramillo, defending champion, won the Senior division with a birdie on the 1st playoff hole over Mark Morgan. Mark had the low round on Saturday with a 66, following it up with a 71. John shot 68 – 69 for the two days. Bob McCallister and Lawrence O’Neill tied for 3rd place at 138 for the tournament.

SUPER SENIOR DIVISION

Jim Williams won the Super Senior Division, shooting 68 – 70. Jim Knoll came in 2nd (67 – 73); Herb Jensen came in 3rd (69 – 72), and Charles Richesin and Matt Free tied for 4th (144 total).

Within the Super Senior division there was a Legends flight for those players 75 years and older. Vic Shellenberg shot the lowest score (72 – 73), placing 1st in the Legends flight; his score put him in 6th place with the Super Seniors and therefore a larger payout. Jim Ono took the next place in the Legends flight (78 – 77) followed by Gerry Valentini (83 – 79).
