2022 City Junior Championship

The 86th running of the Sacramento City Jr. Championship and the inaugural of the Peggy Dodds Memorial was contested at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex on July 5th and 6th. There were 115 Junior players playing in this tournament. The 12-18 Age Divisions played a total of 36 Holes (18 Holes each day) on the Alister MacKenzie Course. The 7 -11 Age Divisions played a total of 18 Holes (9 Holes each day) on the Arcade Creek Course. Peggy’s presence was missed by players, parents, the Haggin Oaks Staff and all of the Sacramento Golf Council members. Dana Dodds, Peggy’s nephew, was at the tournament to give out the awards.

The Overall Boys Champion, Clark Van Gaalen, came from the Boys 16-18 Division. He had a 1st Round score of 68 and a Final Round score of 64, for a 12 under total score of 132. On the second day, Clark had a Hole-In-One on the 14th Hole and an Eagle on the 18th Hole.

The Overall Girls Champion, Taylor Baker, emerged from the Girls 14-15 Division. She had a 1st Round score of 71 and a Final Round score of 74, for a total score of 145.
